Your public IP address is the address websites see when you go online. This page shows it instantly — both IPv4 and IPv6 if your connection supports them — together with the approximate country of your internet provider. It is the quickest way to check that a VPN or proxy is working, or to give your IP address to IT support.
How to find your IP address
- Open this page — your public IP address appears at the top automatically.
- Click "Copy" to copy it, for example for IT support or a whitelist.
- Check IPv4 and IPv6 to see which types your connection supports.
- Turn your VPN on and click Refresh to check that the address and country change.
Public IP vs local IP
Your public IP address belongs to your internet connection — every device on your home Wi-Fi shares it. Your local (private) IP address, such as 192.168.1.10, is only used inside your home network and is shown in your device's Wi-Fi settings, not on websites.
Most home internet addresses change from time to time. A fixed ("static") IP address usually has to be ordered from your provider.
What the results mean
- IPv4: the classic address, four numbers like 203.0.113.25.
- IPv6: the newer, longer address like 2001:db8::1. Many mobile and fibre networks support it.
- Country: an estimate based on your internet provider — it shows the provider's location, which can differ from yours, especially on mobile data.
- Host name: the name your provider gives your address, often showing the provider's name.
Not working? Try this
- Shows a different country: mobile networks and VPNs route traffic through other cities or countries — that is normal.
- IPv6 "not available": your provider or router does not offer IPv6 yet. Everything still works over IPv4.
- Address doesn't change with VPN on: the VPN may not be connected, or it uses "split tunnelling" — check its settings.
- Nothing shows: an ad-blocker or firewall may block the check. Allow this page and click Refresh.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find my IP address?
Open this page. Your public IP address is shown at the top, with a button to copy it.
Can someone find my home address from my IP?
No. An IP address shows only the approximate area of your internet provider, not your street address.
Why does my IP address change?
Most providers give home and mobile connections a dynamic IP address that changes when the router restarts or after some time.
Is my IP address stored?
No. ZentaPDF shows your address only to you and does not store it.
What is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?
IPv4 addresses are short (four numbers) and running out; IPv6 addresses are longer and allow many more devices. Most connections use both.
