See your battery level, whether it is charging and how much time is left — live, in your browser. Below you will also find simple steps to check your battery's real health (how much capacity it has lost) on Windows laptops, MacBooks, Android phones and iPhones.
How to use the battery test
- Open this page in Chrome or Edge on your laptop or Android phone.
- Read the battery level, charging status and estimated time.
- Plug the charger in or out — the status updates instantly, so you can check that charging works.
- For battery health (wear), follow the steps for your device below.
Check battery health on Windows
- Press the Windows key, type "cmd" and open Command Prompt.
- Type powercfg /batteryreport and press Enter.
- Open the file shown (battery-report.html). Compare "Design capacity" with "Full charge capacity": e.g. 50,000 vs 40,000 mWh means the battery has 80% of its original capacity.
Check battery health on Mac, iPhone and Android
- MacBook: Apple menu → System Settings → Battery → (i) next to Battery Health. Hold Option and click the Apple menu → System Information → Power for the cycle count.
- iPhone: Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging → Maximum Capacity.
- Android: Settings → Battery (or Device care → Battery on Samsung). Some phones show health under Settings → About phone → Battery information; Samsung Members → Diagnostics also checks it.
- Battery health below about 80% usually means noticeably shorter battery life and is a common reason to replace the battery.
Not working? Try this
- "Not supported": Firefox, Safari and all iPhone browsers don't share battery info. Use Chrome or Edge on a laptop or Android phone.
- Not charging: try another cable, charger and socket; clean the charging port gently.
- Stuck at 80%: many laptops and phones limit charging to 80% to protect the battery — check the battery settings or manufacturer app.
- Drains fast: check which apps use most battery in the battery settings, and lower screen brightness.
Frequently asked questions
Can a website check my battery health?
No. Browsers only share the charge level and charging state. Battery health (capacity) must be checked in your device settings — see the steps on this page.
How do I check laptop battery health on Windows?
Open Command Prompt, type powercfg /batteryreport and open the report. Compare Full charge capacity with Design capacity.
What is good battery health?
Above 80% of the original capacity is considered healthy. Below 80% you will notice shorter battery life.
Why does it say no battery on my PC?
Desktop computers have no battery. The browser then shows 100% and "charging".
