Check every part of your game controller in your browser: buttons, D-pad, both analog sticks, triggers and vibration. The tester shows exact stick positions so you can spot stick drift, how far triggers press, and which buttons you have already tested. It works with Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro and most PC controllers over USB or Bluetooth.
How to test your controller
- Connect the controller by USB cable or Bluetooth.
- Press any button — the browser then shows the controller.
- Press every button and move both sticks in full circles; tested buttons turn green.
- Let go of the sticks and check that both dots return to the centre. Try the vibration buttons.
What the results mean
- Sticks: x and y go from −1 to 1. At rest both should stay close to 0.00. Values above about 0.10 with your thumb off the stick mean stick drift.
- Triggers: LT/L2 and RT/R2 show 0–100%. They should reach 100% when fully pressed and return to 0%.
- Buttons tested: each button turns green once it works. A button that never lights up is faulty or mapped differently.
- Layout "Standard" means the browser knows your controller; "Custom" controllers show numbered buttons.
What is stick drift?
Stick drift is when the character or camera moves on its own because the analog stick reports a small movement while you are not touching it. It is caused by worn sensors or dust inside the stick. Cleaning with compressed air sometimes helps; otherwise the stick module needs replacing. Many games let you raise the "dead zone" to hide small drift.
Not working? Try this
- Nothing shows: press a button — browsers only show a controller after a button press. Try another USB cable (some only charge) or re-pair Bluetooth.
- PlayStation controller on PC: works over USB and Bluetooth in Chrome and Edge; Steam can also translate it.
- Buttons in the wrong place: your controller uses a non-standard layout; buttons are shown by number instead.
- No vibration: vibration works in Chrome and Edge with most Xbox and PlayStation controllers; Firefox and Safari do not support it yet.
Frequently asked questions
How do I test my controller for stick drift?
Connect it, press a button, then let go of the sticks. If x or y stays above about 0.10 while you are not touching the stick, the controller has drift.
Does it work with PS4 and PS5 controllers?
Yes, DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers work over USB or Bluetooth in Chrome and Edge.
Why doesn't my controller appear?
Press any button first. If it still doesn't appear, try a different cable or USB port, or pair it again by Bluetooth.
Can I test vibration?
Yes, in Chrome and Edge. Use the Strong, Weak and Both vibration buttons.
